AIMS AND OBJECTIVES
I
n addition to the fundamental purpose of setting up the College by the British colonial administration in 1909 as enunciated above, King's College is poised to achieve the following lofty objectives:
  • Foster a spirit of oneness and national unity among students
  • Achieve the aims and objectives of Secondary Education as set out in the National Policy on Education.
  • Develop individual talents in games, sports, cultural activities academic pursuits in all students.
  • Inculcate the spirit of leadership and self discipline in students, through their participation in the management of classroom, boarding house, year groups, cultural and social organisations.
  • Provide a teaching and learning environment for students to attain a high level of education for excellence, both in academic pursuit a development of all-embracing personality, through adequate and qualitative staffing, sound school management practices and the provision of stable infrastructural facilities and resources in the College.

* Lord Fredrick Lugard, the Governor-General of Nigeria, described King's College, Lagos, in a White Paper as the leading school in the Colony

* King's College, Lagos was the first secondary institution in Nigeria to present candidates for the Cambridge Overseas School Certificate Examination in 1912

*the UNESCO listed King's College, Lagos among the institutions to celebrate their founders’ days by the organisation in 1909.
